About Tom Gidlund
I was raised in Seattle Washington in the community of Ballard and attended Ballard High School . After High School I spent three years in the Navy and then went on to graduate from Seattle University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in  Electrical Engineering in 1965. The majority of my Engineering career was spent in Aerospace doing product management and marketing in commercial and military aviation. I spent a brief time in the Industrial and Automotive market place in the late 70's. Business development has been my strength with the ability to identify emerging markets and create a business model to justify market entry.  In the early 80's I joined Howard S. Wright Construction as the Vice President of Marketing. This was a period of rapid expansion in commercial construction in the Seattle Area, my objective was to place Howard S. Wright as the contractor of choice with developers and corporate institutions.

I am a avid Sailor, racing my own sailboat for 17 years in the Seattle area and I had the opportunity to crew on two transpacific races to Hawaii, Victoria to Maui in 1982 and TRANSPAC from LA to Honolulu in 1983. After a sabbatical in Sweden, my wife and our 4 month old son we sailed from Spain via Gibraltar, Tangiers, Cannery Islands, the Caribbean and the Panama Canal to Newport Beach California in our 38' sailboat  "Mabruk".

This is what I do for my  clients; (1) provide the detailed economic history of Bellingham; population, labor, appreciation (2) define the future events and economic stimulus that will increase the demand and appreciation for investment properties (3) present investment properties to my clients that fulfill their investment goals (4) provide the financial and legal organization for my clients to manage and protect their investment within Gidlund & Associates LLC.
